When on a shoot, we shoot to obtain the maximum quality from our cameras equipment. One method to achieve this is to photograph in a digital format known as RAW. RAW captured files allow us as photographers to do fine tuning to the photograph in software programs such as PhotoShop. The fine tuning allows us to make changes to the brightness, colour and sharpness of the photograph, making it look a lot better that the original. RAW files can also only be viewed if the computer has RAW viewing software. Alastair also spends a lot of time doing image correction, touch-ups or manipulation on the pictures. This would include things such as, making the sky more blue, removing things such as cracks in walls, removing leaves on the ground or making the models skin more silky. This type of manipulation can make an ordinary picture quite spectacular and photographers such as Alastair take great pride in producing the perfect picture for the client. Unfortunately, post production of images can be a lengthy process, sometimes requiring days of computer work. In this case a post production fee will need to be charged. So when a client askes for a copy of the pictures on CD after the shoot, there is a long hesitation followed by a plea to first allow us to post produce the pictures. However, where there is no option, we will gladly hand over a CD of all the pictures. ALP - Photography and Video company | ||
